Arras will overwhelm you not only by its wealth of heritage, but also by its way of life which defines the town.
 
The Boves of ArrasThe Boves and the Belfry

The Boves: A tour of the town's basements which allows you to discover the underground history of Arras. Originally a chalk-pit, les Boves were dug from the 10th century and had multiple functions through the ages.

Opening hours of the Tourist Office : from April 1st to September 14th: Monday to Saturday from 9.00 am to 6.30 pm, Sunday from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm, from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm.
From September 15th to March 31st : Monday from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm, Tuesday to Saturday from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm, from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm, Sunday from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm.
Closed on January 1st, December 25th and the 3 weeks after Christmas.

 
Wellington quarry in Arras Wellington quarry

Strategic site as well as a living area during the First World War, the quarry preserves the memory of these thousands of soldiers who were billeted underground.
After going down 20 meters in a glass lift, the tour, which is in the form of an audio guide but also includes an accompanying courier, takes the visitor into the intimacy of the place.
